Papua New Guinea Collection
Begin With Books

Bilum Books commitment to literacy extends to creating books in under-resourced local languages of Papua New Guinea.

Working in partnership with The Asia Foundation, Bilum Books has created a beautiful collection of Papua New Guinean storybooks for beginner readers. These ebooks for the children are published digitally in three local languages, Hiri Motu, Tok Pisin, Enga, and English. They can be downloaded and read for free using the following links:

COVID-19 children’s storybooks in local languages

COVID-19 themed children’s storybooks have been created for the children of Papua New Guinea to read in three local languages. The stories are designed to educate children so that they can protect themselves during the time of COVID-19.

Bilum Books worked with translators Craig Volker (Tok Pisin), Andrew Solien (Hiri Motu) and Daniel Kumbon (Enga). All welcomed the opportunity to bring COVID-19 health messages to children in the form of digital picture storybooks.
